The skilled electricians at Dawson Electrical had over ten years of experience in the electrical industry. They had the qualifications, the in-house talent and the technical expertise to provide exceptional electrical services both domestically and commercially. What they weren’t sure about was how to find more business leads and opportunities to grow their customer base. That’s where Active Internet Marketing (UK) stepped in to help.

The Objective

Dawson Electrical was a small, local business simply looking to grow. So the aim was to boost their visibility, to expand their business to other surrounding areas and to increase the flow of work for their company. Dawson already had all the qualities to succeed – all they needed was a professional marketing agency who knows the ins and outs of internet marketing. We recognise the shift of customers to the search results of Google and that’s where our focus was for Dawson – an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) marketing strategy to get the company ranking high and Google where potential customers could find them more easily.

This was a purely local campaign, so in order to strengthen the level of trust Google had in the site, and, in turn, obtain rankings, we had to strengthen their local search presence.

Content optimisation formed a large part of the initial strategy, and once uploaded to the website, the copy was periodically reviewed against analytics data and ranking fluctuations to ensure it performed consistently for the client throughout various algorithm updates.

To increase their local search presence, we turned our attention to the offsite search presence of the client and the way their name and address details were listed online. We also placed a focus on the client’s Google listing and consistently optimised this, utilising a wide range of features to enhance the listing.

The Results

Dawson has seen some excellent results in growing their business marketing. We added 58 new keywords to the website, all of which are ranking typically between the first and tenth positions on Google search results. 

  • In the last year alone, Dawson has seen a 228% increase in the amount of active users with a 217% increase in new users. 
  • Organic search, which is what our team specialises in, has increased for Dawson’s site by 232%. They now get more people searching directly for their name with a 195% increase in direct searches. 
  • Their blog has also seen a huge increase by 357%, with new blogs posted regularly by the team at Active Internet Marketing. 
  • Every single page on Dawson’s website has seen hugely positive results, with views and clicks increasing anywhere from 60% to 357%.
