Pinterest, it seems to be in the world of the unknown for a lot of us. However, it is time to step it up and get to know this increasingly popular social media platform, as it is one of the fastest growing social media platforms of 2015. Pinterest represents a massive opportunity for both consumer-focused and business-to-business companies. We have put together three ket tips to bare in mind when building a successful Pinterest presence for your business.

  1. Increase your brand authority. Establishing authority in your field is a common goal for businesses on Pinterest. To do this, you should create several Pinterest boards that provide useful and educational information to your followers whilst promoting your products and services in a fun and engaging way. You don’t have to create all of the content that you pin on Pinterest. To help position yourself as an authority in your field, share content from a combination of vetted sources.
  2. Expand your reach. To grow the size of your audience you need to expand the size of your audience. Use group boards to collaborate with popular pinners who have a large following to expose your brand and content to more people.
  3. Drive traffic to your site. Pinterest drives more traffic to your website than LinkedIn, Google+ and YouTube combined. In order to take advantage of this Pinterest users must first be attracted to your pins and then pin them to their own boards. The most successful pins on Pinterest have some traits in common. They combine great images with content to solve a problem, inspire, offer something desirable or appeal to interest in a hobby or activity.
